This overnight excursion shall consist of our MYP 1 & 2 students visiting Zeeland. A coastal region is one of the harbours of the Golden Age of exploration in which the Dutch were integral, making it an ideal place to roundoff our final unit on explorers.
The sea forms the basis of all aspects of Zeeland from global exploration to local small-scale farming. Zeeland is where the Belgian national dish is farmed: mussels! During this voyage, it will be the perfect opportunity to gain a fascinating insight into how traditional farming methods are twinned with global interests and it is beneficial to everyone to understand where our food comes from.
In addition to having to cook together and look after one another, students will have the opportunity to go on refreshing walks on the beach as well as bike rides to discover the surrounding nature.
